Question: cycas

Hello I have a mega cycas in the garden that unfortunately I have to remove because it has now become unmanageable due to its size but I would not want to ruin it or risk it drying out so I would like to know when is the ideal time to remove it and replant it somewhere else. Thanks.

Answer: cycas

Dear Angela,

cycas are plants that produce a shallow and not excessively developed root system, to transport the plants it is necessary to try to damage the roots as little as possible; you can move the plant in autumn, or at the end of winter, before it starts to fully vegetate again, trying to remove as large a bread of earth around the roots as possible.
