The basic pruning shears
The pruning shears, or pruning shears, of a basic level represent the simplest and most universal model for carrying out gardening jobs of medium-short duration and not particularly complicated. Shears of this type are recommended in agriculture and gardening or nursery activities. Depending on the intended use, the shears have different shapes and forms. The basic model is ideal for cutting twigs. This model has curved blades to better accommodate the twigs. Furthermore, the blades are short in relation to the length of the handles. This way you can put a good pressure on the blades themselves. There are also versions with long and straight blades and handles, more suitable for pruning hedges. This type of scissor can be made in different ways. Some are built entirely with special steels and coated in non-slip rubbery plastic material for professional pruning. The super sharp and polished stainless steel blades ensure a clean and more precise cut. It is essential that the scissors are always sharp, clean and of excellent quality.
Pneumatic pruning shears
Pneumatic scissors are driven by compressed air, so they need to be connected to a compressor or, if you have one, to a self-propelled motor compressor. This type of shear is characterized by a remarkable lightness. Their weight is approximately 500 grams and therefore they are able to ensure the pruner manageability and lightness for a work of several hours that is repeated over time. This is a professional type pruning shears, particularly suitable for vineyards. Lisam produces different types based on their function: there are magnesium alloy or models with double-edged blades in tempered steel. An important feature of this model is that they are very efficient. That is, they offer the possibility of working at the same time on different fronts, unlike the electrical ones. Furthermore, each model of pneumatic scissors can be extended by means of fixed extensions and telescopic rods to be able to prune up to 3-4 meters in height.
Electric pruning shears
Electric pruning shears are suitable for professional and precise work, such as for pruning vineyards. They weigh on average 800-1000 gr, therefore much more than pneumatic ones. Then there is the accessory battery to be carried in a special vest or backpack. The latter has a weight of about 2-2.5 kg and recharges every 5 or 6 hours. Allows you to work for about 2 days with the same charge. There is a kit that contains, in addition to the electric pruning shears and the battery, also a pair of gloves with the switch, a connection cable, the charger, a stone for sharpening the scissor blades and telescopic rods to get up 6-7 meters in height. There are also smaller and lighter batteries but they have less autonomy and need to be recharged more often. With these, rather thick branches can be cut, reducing the cutting times that occur with a basic scissors. They are more suitable for vineyards, less for olive groves for which an electric chainsaw is preferable. Photo source: www.lisam.it
Pruning shears: Telescopic pruning shears
Finally, there is a model suitable for gardening in height. The telescopic, in fact, are shears with a telescopic rod that can reach various heights. Among the most used are those that measure 130 and 180 cm when closed and then become 200 and 300 cm long once extended. These are actually normal manual scissors, like the first we have described, or pneumatic or electric, like those in paragraphs 2 and 3, but which can be extended with telescopic rods to prune to higher heights without using ladders and therefore guaranteeing greater safety in cutting. Some of these models are orientable and can reach the most hidden branches, while others have an "anti-fatigue" engagement that allows you to easily place yourself in the best position to cut the branch even at a distance and get less tired.
