The Italian Volpino is a fairly young breed, born around 1600. It comes from the dogs of Northern Europe.
Popular breed in the Roman nobility and in Tuscany. It is a breed considered very elegant. Its name derives from the word "fox".

General aspect

Small-sized, mesomorphic dog, very collected and harmonious overall. It stands out because of its thick, raised and long hair.

He is a very intelligent dog, very lively and graceful.
It is a breed that becomes attached very easily to the person who takes care of it. Some argue that the reasons for its rarity lie in the fact that in a period it was confused with the Pomeranian Volpino which is almost identical in appearance and that the latter took over.
He is a canine with aptitudes and qualities certainly worth appreciating.
