Origin

The origin of this race with a slender shape is dark and has no relationship with the island from which its name derives. The current Maltese seems to derive from a cross between German variety and French Bagadese. Originally the Maltese was free of uropygium (fatty gland located near the tail) like the Pavoncello. He contributed to the creation of the King.

Overall impression

Stilt legs and long gooseneck.
High tail and short, compact body.
Wings folded up. Discrete caruncles and eyelids.

Breed coats

White, black, brown, red, yellow, blue with black rods, blue hammered with black, brown with rods, brown hammered, red with rods, hammered red, throttle, black with speckled head with or without rosettes on the wings.
