Pigeon breeds: Black Head of Brive

Breed with a purely local diffusion, originally from the town of Brive and the surrounding countryside, where it was created in the early 1900s. It was once highly bred on farms and above all appreciated for its robustness and prolificity. It seems that it was also used as a racing pigeon, for its qualities as a good flyer.

Overall impression

Colombo in shape.
Colombo proud and elegant, robust, good flyer, with wide and well developed chest; slightly inclined habit, medium high position; it has a total length of 38/40 centimeters and a weight between 550 and 650 grams.

Breed coats
