Type of protected area - Where it is located
Typology: Lipu Oasis
The area is an SPA, and since November 2013, with the signing of the agreement between the Treviso Province, the Municipality of Pederobba and LIPU, it is a LIPU Oasis. It occupies an area of 163 hectares.
Inside the SPA there is an oasis of protection according to the hunting law 157/92 which protects only the 5 ha of the nesting grove of the Herons.

It is bordered by two streams: the Piave and the San Giacomo Fountains.
The first is a torrential stream with large areas of dry bed (defined as severe or thin), riparian woods with a prevalence of poplar and willow.
The Fountains of San Giacomo characterize a very different area: the abundant spring waters favor the growth of a luxuriant vegetation composed of hydrophytes, willows and alders.
In the drier areas, on the other hand, the presence of bushes such as sea buckthorn, budleia and juniper is dominant, interspersed with large clearings where man intervenes periodically with the mowing and patches of forest cover consisting mainly of willows and poplars. The area of the Lipu Oasis of Pederobba towards the south-west borders the Feltrina road beyond which stands the steep forested slope of the north side of the Monfenera.
